Fauquier Habitat for Humanity, Inc.

A non-profit Christian building ministry that provides simple decent shelter with God's people in need. Our mission is to eliminate poverty housing in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties. More than 400 families in Fauquier County alone, live in shacks without running water or indoor plumbing. Many have no source of heat, leaking roofs and dirt floors. We build new homes and rehabilitate poverty housing working in partnership with families. We offer a hand up, not a hand out. Our partner families must complete 400 hours of sweat equity before the house is complete. We sell the homes to the families for whatever it costs to build, we charge no profit. We take back a no-interest mortgage to repay the loan, usually for 20-25 years. Our homes are built by volunteers, thus keeping the cost to a minimum. . Fauquier Habitat for Humanity offers a wonderful opportunity for moms, dads and children to work together on projects that truly benefit our community. Many area churches partner with Habitat and organize groups to build with us on Saturday mornings.
